Jay and I at our last stop - Story Bridge
Sigh, our last day in Brisbane. I loved this city but I am ready to move on, I suppose. We didn't do much yesterday. We didn't have anything scheduled until 5 pm yesterday so we spent the day doing research for our thesis. Mine seems to be coming along fairly well. I am finding lots of good stuff on photocatalytic concrete, the only problem is that not much of it is really in Australia. Greeeeat. But I have sent some emails out to a wide variety of folks across Aussieland, so hopefully something more will pop up. At 5 we headed out for our final evening in the city. Michael Hein, one of the professors on the trip, used to be a bridge designer and has a plethora of knowledge on structural design so we spent our last night in the city on a bridge tour. It was very informative and a good way to see all of the city on our final night. We weren't able to go to every bridge (there are around 20) so we saw a few of the major ones, talked about how they carry loads and other interesting building science geeky stuff, and took some good pictures as the sun went down. All in all, not a bad way to spend our final sunset in Brisbane.
